 AGENDA:

1. Turn in journal write
2. Journal Write - What responsibility do you feel the creator bears for his creation and for the actions of his creation?  Consider this question on many levels – God and man, man and his children, man and his inventions, etc.
3. Begin your homework during class

HW: View the videos below on youtube.com and answer the following questions - due Thursday

What elements, if any, have the film makers kept the same as in Shelley's tale? Why have they chosen these elements? Alternatively, are there important elements of the novel left out of the film? How might these changes affect the audience? Are elements of humor included in the film? How does it affect the viewer?

Discuss the special effects. Consider lighting, music, and sound. How do these elements add to your understanding of the novel? What differences exist between the film's interpretation and your own while reading? Do these differences add or change your analysis of Shelley's work? Explain.

What's it about?
Frankenstein…. It’s an iconic story about a ‘mad scientist’ who creates a monster that he can’t control and the conflict between them.  Right?  But what ELSE is it about?

You have to choose ONE WORD to express what Frankenstein is about- an abstract- something that is untouchable… something that is deeper than the stock answer to the question… what’s it about?
Record your answer and write it to the board first thing Thursday at the beginning of class.
